Navjot Kaur Launch “Mission Indradhanush”

Chandigarh 07th October:- The Mission Indradhanush, depicting seven colors of the rainbow, aims to cover all those children by 2020 who are either unvaccinated, or are partially vaccinated against seven vaccine preventable diseases which include diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B.  The Govt. of India, MoHFW, New Delhi decided to improve the vaccination coverage, launching phase II of Mission Indradhanush in 297 medium focus for districts across the country on 7th October, 2015.This week long activity will be observed for consecutive months till Jan 2016. In Chandigarh, Navjot Kaur, PCS Joint Secretary Health-cum-Director Public Relations launched "Mission Indradhanush" at Teen Colony, Village Khajeri, today by vaccinating the left out children from 0-2 years of age. She also appreciated the efforts being done by the department of health and family welfare for this noble cause.

On the occasion, Dr. V.K. Gagneja, Director Health and Family Welfare, U.T. Chandigarh said that the focused and systematic immunization drive through a "catch-up" campaign mode aims to cover all the children who have been left out or missed out for immunization. In Chandigarh this drive is focused to cover vaccinated and partially vaccinated children in 168 HRA including 7 construction sites & various other areas.

Dr. Shivani-WHO, Dr.  Dheeraj- ITSU, MoHFW, New Delhi Dr. Anu Chopra Dosajh-DIO, Dr. Manju Behl-P.O. RCH, Dr. Anil Garg-ADM, Dr. Rajeev Khaneja-STO, Dr. Sangeeta Ajay-N.O. (NHM), Medical officers, paramedical staff, Field staff were also present on the occasion.
