Dr. Neha Miglani Scores All India Rank 1 in Post-Doctoral Fellowship

Chandigarh 07th October:- Dr. Neha Miglani Vadhera, has done Panjab University proud in the field of Mass Communication and Journalism by scoring all India Rank 1.University Grants Commission has declared the results of prestigious Post-Doctoral Fellowship for Women candidates for 2015-16 and 2016-17. Only one candidate from the field of Mass Communication and Journalism has been selected this year for 2015-16 scheme. In a twin achievement, Dr. Neha, who completed her PhD (Mass Communication) from School of Communication Studies (SCS) this year, has also been recommended for another prized fellowship by Government of India- Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Post-Doctoral Fellowship for Humanities and Social Sciences for 2015.

Her specialized research area has been media employees and their concerns. The post-doctoral study, in the area of Mass Communication & Journalism, shall comprise studying newer dimensions of work life and mapping their organizational problems at an all India level.  She has also brought laurels to the university last year by bagging a prestigious fellowship- Prof. K.E. Eapen fellowship award by a noted U.S. based media research body- the International Association of Mass Communication Researchers (IAMCR) at their 2014 India conference. She presented a paper on Quality of Work Life of Media Professionals in North India and Leadership Styles in the Indian Media. Dr. Neha was also a senior reviewer for a prestigious Asian Media Conference in Osaka, Japan last year, where she presented a paper on pay scales concerns in the Indian media. 

The post-doctoral schemes by UGC under Ministry of Human Resource and Development are intended to promote higher level research in India.
