MCMDAV HOLDS 42nd ANNUAL CONVOCATION:945 Students Proud Awardees of Degrees

Chandigarh 14th April:-- MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh today
organised its 42nd Annual Convocation in its College campus. Prof.
Arun K. Grover, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the
Chief Guest on the occasion. Around 945 students became the proud
awardees of degrees in various post graduate and graduate streams.
More than 30 special prizes for outstanding achievements in the P.U.
annual examinations were also given away. Guneet Kaur Khanna was the
recipient of the Roll of Honour for securing the first position in
Panjab University in M.A. Sociology. She also bagged the prestigious
Mehr Chand Mahajan Award, which is the highest award of the college in
academic field. The other prize winners included Neha Garg, who stood
second in P.U. in M.A. Sociology; Manika Ahuja, Aanchal Bhalaik, Swati
Verma, Chinar Thakur, Pooja Bansal, and Anupama Mannon for securing
the top slots in the Honours exams in the subjects of English,
Psychology, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, and
Sociology respectively.
In keeping with the MCM tradition of nurturing bonds between the
teacher and the taught, the illustrious alumnae of the college were
specially honoured. Among these were Ms. Payal Goel (PCS Allied)
posted as Excise and Taxation officer, Mohali, Dr. Brahmjyot Kaur, MD
Pathology at INSCOL and Bharat Vikas Parishad, Ms. Sadhavi Dalal,
Banker, Ms. Ankita Batish, Associate Financial Advisory Services of
the Indian Subsidiary of Deliottee Touche, U.S.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Prof. Arun K. Grover lauded
the achievements of the institution in the field of education for
women. He traced the glorious tradition of DAV and the college as
harbinger of a momentous change in the society while charting out a
road map for the future that would augment the strength of the
institution ever further and make it into a force sector with in the
globlized scenario.
