Chandigarh, June 21, 2025:-Pracheen Kala Kendra organized a melodious evening with soulful musical performances to mark world music day.
The city's leading cultural organization Pracheen Kala Kendra organized a special musical evening on the occasion of World Music Day here today at the Kendra's ML Koser auditorium from 6:00 pm. On this occasion, various performances were presented by the music faculty of Music Department of the Kendra namely Sh.. Pravesh Kumar, Dr. Shimpi Kashyap, Dr. Jasbir Singh and Mr. Surjeet Singh.
Apart from this, on this occasion, on the concluding day of the clay modeling workshop being conducted by Pracheen Kala Kendra at its 71 complex , an exhibition was organized at the center's PKK Art Gallery from 5:30 pm, in which artworks made by children were displayed. This clay modeling was conducted by artist Gurmeet Goldy. 10 children participated in this workshop who were also awarded certificates on the conclusion of the workshop.
The program was commenced by Pravesh Kumar with raga Yaman Kalyan with a traditional alaap followed by vilambit composition Mora Manwa Bandh Leeno Re and received applause by presenting the another composition Darshan Dev Shankar Mahadev based on Madhya Laya . he concluded his recital with a beautiful bhajan Jogiya Se Preet Kiya Dukh Hoye amid applause. He is finely accompanied by Amandeep Gupta on Tabla and Sh. Surjit Kumar harmonium.
After this Dr. Shimpi Kashyap took the centre stage to perform her recital . She chose Raga Puriya Kalyan with vilambit composition Saanjh Bhai Gauan Ke Sang based followed by another beautiful composition Tose Kanha Re set to Madhya Laya. she concluded her program with a soulful bhajan Kaun Gali Gaye Sham. She was well accompanied by Divyansh Thakur on tabla and Sh. Pravesh Kumar on harmonium.
In the next part of the program Surjit Kumar took the stage. After the traditional alaap in Raga Kalavati, he presented the composition of Bada Khayal with bols Mora Mann Lage Piya Ke Sang. After this, he presented Chhota Khayal composition, Mangal Gaao 0 Hari Hari. He concluded the program with a beautiful bhajan composed by Manoj Muntasir with bols Bhagwan Mere Ghar Aaye. Amandeep Gupta on tabla and Rakesh Kumar on harmonium added the success to his recital.
In the last part of the program, Sufi singer Dr. Jasbir Singh took the stage and to present sufiana kalams . He commenced with famous Kalam of Baba Bulleh Shah, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Ni Main Aape Ranjha Hoi followed by another famous kalam Bulla Ki Jaane Main Kaun. He concluded his recital with soulful Alf Allah Chambe Di Booti amid thunderous applause.
On this occasion, the Secretary of the Kendra Sajal Koser and Registrar Guru Shobha Koser and Deputy registrar Dr. Samira Koser were also present and praised the stage performance of the artists and encouraged them.
