Mohali, May 31, 2025:--In a bold demonstration of national solidarity, Chandigarh Group of Colleges Mohali, Jhanjeri has officially terminated all academic collaborations with universities in Turkey and Azerbaijan, citing their recent public support for Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. The institution's management emphasized that educational organizations bear a crucial responsibility to stand with the nation, especially during times of geopolitical tension. The decision entails the immediate cessation of student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and all academic partnerships with institutions in the two countries.
CGC Jhanjeri management stated that while our brave soldiers put their lives on the line to protect the nation, we, as an academic institution, cannot remain indifferent or neutral. They added that our partnerships must reflect our national ethos and unwavering support for the country, its leadership, and the armed forces.
CGC Jhanjeri also appealed to students to pursue higher education in countries that align with India's diplomatic and strategic values.
Management further stated that the universities with whom we've severed ties have openly extended support to Pakistan. In contrast, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India has taken firm steps to safeguard national security, including the successful neutralization of terror infrastructure across the border.
This decisive move underlines CGC Jhanjeri's commitment to national interest, patriotism, and integrity, in addition to its focus on academic excellence. By prioritizing national values, the institution sets a powerful example for how educational bodies can contribute meaningfully to the country's sovereignty and dignity.
