NCB Special Drive Against Inter State Syndicates of Narcotic Drugs

Chandigarh Sept. 21, 2021:- Narcotics Control Bureau, Chandigarh Zonal Unit on 20.09.2021, received a specific input regarding trafficking of Opium from Jharkhand to Nabha, Patiala, Punjab. On the basis of information NCB personnel laid Naka at Bhagat Singh Chowk near P.P. Patran under Sadar Police Station Patran, Patiala, Punjab and intercepted a white colour Bolero Pick-Up bearing Registration No. PB-23-T-1041.Thorough search of the vehicle was carried out which resulted in recovery of 2.625 kg. Opium along with drug money Rs. 45,000/- only. Vehicle was seized and two persons, one from Tehsil Nabha, Distt. Patiala, Punjab and another from Chatra, Jharkhand were arrested.

Further investigation is underway.
