Mohali 10th July:--Punjab Health Systems Corporation chairman Barjinder Singh Brar here today informed that nearly 15.40 lakh blue card holder families have been enrolled under the "Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana", for providing a cashless medical insurance up to Rs. 30000/- to Blue Card holders registered under Atta – Dal Scheme of the State. He told that the enrollment has been done on the basis of the data provided by the Food & Civil Supplies Department.
Barjinder Singh Brar stated that this scheme is meant for poor people, however a very few people are aware about this scheme. Therefore, instructions have been issued to all the Deputy Medical Commissioners who are acting as Nodal Officers for BPSSBY in all the districts, to get maximum enrollment done through awareness about this health scheme so that the facility is availed by the poor people.
