Chandigarh July 01, 2021:- The Alumni Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women felicitated two of its alumni- Ms. Gursimranjeet Kaur (Rank 6 in Combined Merit List) and Ms. Roopdeep Kaur, who recently cleared the prestigious Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination 2020. Accompanied by their proud parents, the elated alumni expressed gratitude to their alma mater for giving them the right environment for their holistic development. Both the achievers stressed upon the importance of consistency and the need to identify one's strengths and weaknesses in terms of subjects and topics for ensuring success in the civil services. The event was marked by a planting ceremony by the alumni.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college organised an online interactive session by Ms Gursimranjeet Kaur. A Panjab University topper in Public Administration Honours (Gold Medalist) in 2018, Ms Gursimranjeet shared the secrets of her success with the civil service aspirants and other students during the interactive session. She interacted with more than 200 students, urged them to maintain a timetable and follow a strict yet balanced regimen for achieving their goals. She highlighted the role of her teachers and her alma mater in shaping her into a hard-working, focussed and confident person.
Principal Dr Nisha Bhargava congratulated the proud girls and asserted that MCM remains steadfast in its endeavour to groom women of substance who contribute constructively towards the welfare of the society.
