Chandigarh July 27, 2020:-With an objective to contribute towards preserving and promoting the environment, A Tree Plantation Drive was organised by the Environment Society- VASUDHA of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 27th July, 2020.The event was conducted to promote the spirit of planting during monsoon season. 50 saplings of perennial trees and medicinal plants received from the Department of Forests and WildLife, Chandigarh Administration were planted during the drive.
Dr. Jatinder Kaur, the Principal of the College along with the members of the Society planted the saplings. The Principal emphasized that every day should be treated as Van Mahotsav and plants should be grown to keep the environment green, clean, safe and healthy.
