UT Powermen Defers Strike of 8th Dec 2015

Chandigarh 07^th December:- The UT Powermen union Chandigarh defer its 8^th Dec 2015 Strike. The decision to defer the Strike was taken as per the decision conveyed by the National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employee & Engineers in view of ongoing discussion continues with the Central Government regarding Electricity Amendment Bill 2014 & others demands of Electricity Employee & Engineers. Central Govt. is agreed to consider major view point suggested by the NCCOEEE. Further The Chief Engineer UT Chandigarh today called the delegation of the Union and assured the Union to consider/implement the pending demands of the UT Powermen Union and agreed to fix DPC meeting for making immediate promotion orders of the employees besides removal of Pay anomalies arises between the pay of senior and junior employees by step up the pay of senior employee. Next meeting has also fix on 09^th December,2015 at 11am to resolve the demands.

Later on the Executive Committee of the union met under the chairmanship of  Ram Sarup which after through discussion decide to defer the strike. However gate meetings, rallies dharna & conventions will continue. The NCCOEEE further decided that in case the view point of the committee will not be considered before the placement of bill in parliament then the strike will be observe on the date of placement of bill in parliament without giving further notice.
