Chandigarh 03rd December:- The Social Welfare department has enhanced the financial assistance to Dependent children of widows & destitute women from Rs. 500/ - to Rs. 1000/- per month per child up to two children and up to the age of 18 years which is effective from 01st January, 2016. Only those children are eligible whose mothers are getting pension from the Social Welfare Department under the scheme of Financial Assistance to widows and destitute women to meet the cost of maintenance and education.
