Indian Red Cross Society organize Voluntary Blood Donation Camp

Chandigarh 02nd December:-  To keep the slogan "NOBODY SHOULD DIE FOR WANT OF BLOOD", The Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh is organizing Voluntary Blood Donation Camps from time to time to fulfill the demand of blood in our hospitals which generally remains in short supply and especially in this lean period.

The Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh  organized a camp today at Karuna Sadan Building, Sector 11B, Chandigarh, which was inaugurated by Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch Chandigarh. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest appreciated the organizers for organizing the camp in such a decent way. He said that Donation of Blood is the gift of life to any dying person. He further added that it is the moral duty of every eligible person to come forward and donate their blood voluntarily. It is the only way to fill the gap between demand and supply of blood.

The event was well managed by the society. Team of doctors from Department of Transfusion Medicines, PGI, Chandigarh conducted this camp. As many as 54 First Aid, NSS Volunteers, Red Cross staff, Life Members and others come forward to donate their blood. Exhibition on aids awareness with the help of Director State Aids Control Society Chandigarh was also organized to educate The Chief Guest awarded the Blood Donation Certificates to the Blood Donors and encouraged them to make it a regular habit to donate their blood after every three months.
