Adviser Launch Facebook Page & Toll-Free Helpline Number for People of North East

Chandigarh 19th December:-  In the wake of recent occurrences in the city regarding assault being faced by the people of North East, Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner of U.T. Chandigarh, has recently constituted a committee to safeguard the rights and freedom of the people of North East. The committee comprises of Smt. Tapasya Raghav, SDM (E) and SP, Roshan Lal as the nodal officer, along with the representatives of the North-East community.

The inauguration of the Facebook page: Chandigarh Administration for the people of North East and Nodal Toll-Free Helpline number: 1800-180-2130 setup by the committee was done today by Vijay Dev, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T, Chd in the presence of Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Smt. Tapasya Raghav, SDM (E), Smt. Kriti Garg, SDM (S), Prince Dhawan, SDM (C) , Bhupesh Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner, MC, representatives of the North-East community and Media personnels. This page and helpline would act as a cell, thereby providing timely help and support to the people of North-East residing in Chandigarh and nearby areas. It would be under the control and supervision of the Civil Defense and representatives from NGO's, supporting this cause.  

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Dev, Adviser to the Administrator congratulated the Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh for taking up this institutional step and also expressed his belief in the team behind this committee. He further added that such initiatives would provide a sense of assurance and safety to the North-East community. With the united efforts of the committee along with strict action taken by the Chandigarh Police in cases of assault, the objective of safeguarding and protecting North-East people against any type of crime would be achieved.
