Chandigarh 24th November:- As a part of modernisation and celebration of Police Week, R.P.Upadhyay, Inspector General of Police, U.T. Chandigarh inaugurated the Smart Identity Card Printing Unit at Chandigarh Police Head Quarters, Sector 9-D, Chandigarh. A.S. Cheema, DIG Chandigarh, Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, SSP Chandigarh, R.N. Meena, IPS Commandant IRB, Roshan Lal SP/Communication and other senior officers were present on this occasion. IGP appreciated the initiative taken by the Computer Branch of Chandigarh Police.
Speaking on this occasion, IGP R.P.Upadhyay said that Smart Identity card will have security features and maximum personal information of the employee. Old identity card of all employee of Chandigarh Police will be replaced with new Smart Identity cards in phase manner. Smart Card will be prepared under one roof where photograph of the employee and digital signatures will be captured and after instant printing, smart card will be delivered to the concerned employee.
