Chandigarh 06th October:- Indo Global colleges organized seminar and presentation on smart cities at its campus. Eminent Architect Veena Garella, Former Professor, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi was key note speaker at the moment. Professor Garella explained the concept of smart cities based on parameters of smart economy, governance, environment, mobility, people and living, as well as on innovatively employing technology for inclusive, diverse and sustainable urban environment to the students. She also informed the students about various national and international smart cities and the criteria prescribed by the Government of India for the selection and development of 100 smart cities.
Sukhdev Kumar Singla, Chairman and Manav Singla, CEO of Indo Global appreciated that the seminar was well timed in view of Government of India vision for 100 smart cities and various other welfare schemes which will motivate students to contribute meaningfully to present and future needs of our country.
Manav Singla, CEO of Indo Global said at the moment that in the present scenario when India is on the path of becoming fully developed, it is imperative that the architects shall not confine their role to mere designing of buildings, but shall endeavour to create a beautiful, holistic and sustainable living environment. He further added that smart cities require smart citizens and smart professionals and thus it is the responsibility of the students to keep themselves up to date and foremost with international practices to be able to deliver professional expertise in all aspects of built environment to enrich quality of life.
