CGC Jhanjeri College NCC Cadets Excells:Wins Highest Number of 9 Gold Medals in Annual Training Camp

Chandigarh 24th July:- NCC Cadets of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri College brought laurels to the college by winning as many as 9 gold medals in the one week Annual Training Camp organized by 23 Punjab Batallian at Ropar. A total of 417 students including 256 boys and 161 girls from 14 schools and colleges of Punjab took part in this camp, 27 students represented CGC Jhanjeri who won these gold medals. Riya Sharma won Gold medals in drill competition and firing .She along with Deepali Raina won gold medals in piloting, Abhishek Gumber and Shubham Khajuria both won gold medals in drill competition, the teams competing in group song,poetry and speech on ATC camp also won gold medals. The NCC cadets of CGC Jhanjeri won overall first position in the camp by winning maximum number of gold medals . It is a matter of pride for the college that two of its students namely Riya Sharma and Deepali have been selected for the Republic Day parade to be held on 26th Jan. next year. 

Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC congratulated the NCC cadets and the NCC Incharge of the college Rohan Dadwal. Dr. G. D Bansal said it is a matter of great honour that pride during the very first year of our NCC unit, our students have been selected for the Republic Day Parade and they have won so many prizes. He added that all the students will be provided facilities so that they clear their C certificates and become eligible for the 174 vacancies of officers available in Armed Forces every year through NCC Special Entry Scheme.
