Oakridge International School conduct debate competition

Mohali 07^th February:- Oakridge International School conducted an inter house debate competition in which students prepared and find information about the topic themselves.  The topic given to children was the trip to Mars justified. It was interesting to note that at one point the children felt the pride and the joy of being the first country to reach the orbit in the first go, and at the same time some felt that the money could have been used for the development of the Nation and its citizens. The students presented a coherent and forceful set of arguments in a polished manner to prevail over their opponent.

Their confidence was abundantly apparent. The audience sat enthralled listening to the well-presented arguments. At the end of the debate when the judges were called to opine about the event, one of the judges provided with a few suggestions besides praising the participants.

While encouraging the students Principal Adi Lakshmi said that almost each student was seen expressing his/her view with facts and figures. Such activities assist them to enhance the knowledge and at the same time made them better inquirers. She further added that such classroom strategies inculcates confidence and integrity in students.
