Second Edition of Chandigarh Children’s Literature Festival from Jan 30

Chandigarh 05th December:-Dikshant International School, in association with the Adab Foundation, is going to organise second edition of CCLF from Jan 30th through 31st at Kalagram, Chandigarh. This was announced by Festival Director, Anita Roy, who is Senior Commissioning Editor with 'Young Zubaan' & also happens to be one of the Founder Directors of the Bookaroo Children's Literature Festival, apart from being a prolific Children's Literature writer.
While announcing Chandigarh Children Literature Festival Anita Roy said that we aim to promote the culture of book reading in children to enhance their capability to think both creatively & critically. The second edition of CCLF will bring together, children and authors from different backgrounds. The children literature authors who will include award winning writers, illustrators and animators will talk about their literary offerings as children will have a field day interacting with them on any aspect they want to. It will be a reverberating, pulsating and of course very rewarding experience for children. She added that CCLF'15 also features a pre festival competition -- 'The Budding Writers' for school students. This competition is divided in two Age Groups: Group I is for students in the age group of 10- 13 Years and Group II is for students in the age group of 14-16 Years. The students can write their stories in any of these 5 categories -- Short Story, Humour, Poetry, Science Fiction / Fantasy & Personal Essay / Memoir. The best writings will be compiled & published. Two Writers in each age group would be chosen as the Best-in-Grade and will be awarded. The entries can be sent at childrenliteraturefestival@gmail.com. The celebrated & award winning children's literature author Anushka Ravishankar who has 10 books in her kitty will be there with her take on her book 'Tiger on a Tree'. Paro Anand author of 18 books for children & young adults and who is a World Record Holder, for helping over 3000 children make the Globe's Longest Newspaper (850 meters long) in 11 Indian states in 13 languages will participate and talk about her book 'No Guns at my son's funeral'. Payal Kapadia will delve into her book 'Horrid High'. She is the recipient of the 2013 Crossword Book Award (Children's Literature) for Wisha Wozzariter. Mr. Samit Basu – will discuss his book 'Terror of the Titanic', Samit is also a screenwriter. Natasha Sharma who has written – 'Akbar & the Tricky Traitor' & who's earlier work includes the very popular 'Lucky, Yucky, Mucky!' will be present. Priya Kuriyan an Independent film maker & illustrator based in Delhi will present excerpts from her novel – 'When Ali became Bajrang Bali'. Himanjali Shankar will tell the story in her book –'The Stupendous time telling super dog Rousseau' & Payal Dhar will showcase 'Shadow in Eternity'. Sayoni Basu of 'Pliss Pless boom' fame, Animator  Soumya Menon with – 'The Veena Player' in hand,  Nina Sabnani with her book 'Makand & Max',  Sawmya Rajendra – with 'Amma & Cheena' ,Nayantra Surendranath –author of 'A Pair of twins' will also attend. Mathangri Subramanian, Dr. Devika Rangachari, Vinita Krishana, Jaishree, Bhawna Singh, Kamal Pruthi and Rabani Garg will be the other attractions.
