Maj. Gen's Body Donates To PGI

Chandigarh 19th June:- The Department of Anatomy, PGI, Chandigarh has  received today the body of 95 years old panchkula resident Maj Gen. Kartar Singh, as a donation.

Maj Gen Kartar Singh was amongst the first graduates in Dental Surgery from de Montmorency College of Dentistry, Lahore. Trained from 1936-1940, he was commissioned into the Indian Medical Service – Dental Branch (later the Army Dental Corps). After the British left he was the senior most AD Corps officer in India. He became the head of the Dental Services in Jan 51 and remained at the helm till end Oct 1971. For his contribution in nurturing the growth of the Dental Corps, he is widely respected as the Father of the Corps.
