CGC Jhanjeri Beats SUS Tangori in PTU's Cricket Tournament

Mohali 10th February:-- The students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri brought laurels by beating   SUS (South) Tangori college by 5 wickets in PTU’s Inter College Cricket Tournament.The bowlers of CGC Jhanjeri bundled out their opponents for just 98 runs. Imaad proved to be the most successful bowler by capturing 4 wickets for only 11 runs. Manjashan claimed 2 wickets for 19 runs. Nikhil, Sahil & Akshay claimed one wicket each giving 4,7 & 13 runs respectively . CGC Jhanjeri reached their victory target of 99 runs in just 11 overs losing only 5 wickets.

After the brake players of Tangori college started bowling with fire but  Imaad once again proved the best by scoring 23 runs followed by Jaan Mohammed who scored 22 runs.  Now the students of CGC Jhanjeri will play their next match against the winner of Bhaddal & Railmajra Colleges.

S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC congratulated all the players while Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General of CGC while conveying the best of wishes to the winner team said that games enhances every domain of a student’s development. The student’s cognitive capacity is enhanced in games by trial and error, problem solving, and practice discriminating between relevant and irrelevant information. Games also require the students to make choices, direct activities and often involves strategy, or planning, team work  to reach a goal which can be fruitful  for them to them a responsible and successful citizen.
