By 121 News Reporter

Mohali 08th January:-- Oakridge International School organised Inter House human Puppet Show, which gave a chance to   students to showcase their creativity. The performance was spell bounding as the children were in complete Puppet mood. The attire, the songs, the hand movements, the blank expressions each illustrated the thorough research done by the students on what and how a puppet is different from a living, breathing being.  Mozart house claimed the first award for an amazing use of stage and costume. The second position was awarded to Picasso house to remain completely in sync with each other and the third place was taken by Shakespeare house for being very innovative in their approach towards the Puppet dance.

While speaking on this occasion Principal Prangilla Dass said that Puppetry has played an important part in entertainment in most parts of the world. Puppetry imbibes elements of all art forms such as literature, painting, sculpture, music, dance, drama and enables students to develop their creative abilities. Puppetry has been used traditionally in India as a popular and an inexpensive medium to transmit knowledge about Indian myths and legends. Steps should be taken to save primitive culture in which different stories are presented in entertaining manner.
