Chandigarh 12th November:--The Art & Cultural Committee of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh going to celebrate Children Day in Palm Park, Dadu Majra colony on November 14 and about one thousand children from different parts of city among slums are expected to participate in this colourful event. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Member Parliament, UT, Chandigarh will be the Chief Guest. Mayor Subhash Chawla will preside over the function.
According to the Spokesperson of the MC that during the children day celebrations various competitions will be organized by the Municipal Corporation including Painting Competition, Clay modeling, Quiz, Declamation contest, Rangoli and fancy dress competitions. Lucrative prizes i.e. Rs. 3100 for 1st, Rs. 2100 for 2nd and Rs. 1100 for 3rd winners will also encourage the children to participate in this event. During the function magic show, puppet show, moving artists will be organized, and a bouncy (Mickey Mouse) will be installed, which attracts most the children. Students from various schools will perform dance items and Artists of a professional group will perform various dance items and many more. Game show will also be organized in the stage in which various children can win prizes. Dozens of consolation prizes will also be distributed among the children during the function.
