1st Chetan Premani Lecture held at MCM

Chandigarh 09^th November:-- A lecture on "Contesting Tradition and Modernity : In search of Her Voice and Space" by Dr. Pankaj K Singh a noted academician and Professor, Department of English, H.P. University,was organized today in MCM College by the Post Graduate Department of English and Punjabi in association with Chetan Premani Memorial Trust. The lecture paid tribute to Chetan Premani, a scientist, visionary and social activist of great acclaim.

Dr. Pankaj K Singh examined the role of Indian culture and traditions in influencing our values and social transactions. She sensitized the students to voice against atrocities on women and questions the unacceptable conventions of the society to bring about a positive change.

The Principal of the college Dr. Puneet Bedi said that it was a unique platform for girls of MCM where they could imbibe from the insights of a visionary scholar and endeavour to better their lives and those of other women around them.
