To Implementation of Prevention Strategies for Dengue and Vector Borne Diseases Health Department Oraganise a Meeting

Chandigarh 10^th September:--- National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme and Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme Unit Chandigarh under the chairmanship of the Secretary Health, UT-Chandigarh in order to attain effective implementation of prevention strategies for Dengue and other vector borne diseases organised  a meeting here today.

The primary focus of the meeting was strengthening of reporting and surveillance mechanisms for prompt implementation of preventive and control measures for Dengue. The experts from various health facilities also emphasized on strengthening of laboratory services at PGIMER-12, GMCH-32 and GMSH-16.

The Health Secretary Anil Kumar, emphasized on gearing up of activities for enhanced community participation including Schools and Colleges and implementation of special drive for checking of Coolers in Govt. offices, Health Education in Schools and announcement by mega phone for general awareness of Public.

Issue of notices and strict action against defaulters for causing mosquitogenic situation anywhere in the city was discussed and coordinated action with various departments for effective implementation of the same was requested and emphasized by Health Secretary Chandigarh
