Immediate action to be taken for remedial measures against Centipedes: Sidhu

Mohali, 04^th July:-- Remedial measures to be taken against centipedes in Village Mirjapur falling in Sub Division Kharar of Kandi Region. Geologist should also be consulted for the same. These directions were issued by Deputy Commissioner Sh.Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu to Civil surgeon SAS Nagar & SDM Kharar. He also instructed to inspect the village Mirjapur, so that people of village Mirjapur may got Relieved from these bugs at earliest.

Deputy Commissioner directed Civil Surgeon SAS Nagat to take necessary steps without any further delay towards this so that the situation can be controlled by adopting scientific solutions. He also directed SDM Kharar to submit his action taken report regarding this matter. It is worth mentioning at here that peoples of Village Mirjapur, of Block Majri in Kandi region are suffering from centipedes & they are continuously demanding for relief. Taking this matter on priority Deputy Commissioner, directed the officials to take well-organized methods against centipedes immediately.

As directed by Deputy Commissioner, today Dr. Parminder Singh Chief Agriculture Officer has inspected the village Mirjapur & its surroundings, where problem of centipedes has become a big challenge. Dr. Singh said that instead of Millipedes, Centipedes are the main problem in village Mirjapur. He also said that Problem of centipedes is only in Mirjapur village whereas its nearby villages are free from this problem. He said that during rainy season due to moisture, centipedes come out from their shelter. He pointed out that occurrence of centipedes may also be due to forest areas near to village Mirjapur. Deputy Commissioner said that villagers have been advised to use pesticides as a remedy to control the situation, so that this problem may be cracked in a scientific manner.
