Chandigarh, 01st July:-- Haryana Pradesh Youth Congress (HYC) today started the HYC Uttarakhand relief fund and appealed to the people of Haryana, especially the youth, to donate generously towards the fund.
While addressing a press conference today in Chandigarh, HYC President Amit Sihag expressed deep concern and grief over the heavy loss of life and property caused due to devastation in Uttarakhand. He said "Youth Congress pays homage to those pilgrims and personnel of Indian Army, Air Force and Paramilitary Forces who have lost their life due to floods and during the relief and rescue operations in Uttarakhand". He also thanked the personnel of all defense forces of the country and other social organizations who were dedicatedly contributing in the relief and rescue operations there.
He said, "State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, was providing every possible assistance to Uttarakhand in this hour of crises. Not only has the Haryana Government already provided a financial assistance of Rs.10 crore to Uttarakhand, but also sent 25,000 blankets,11,000 tents,one lakh doses of vaccine required to treat the cattle suffering from 'Gal Ghotu' disease and 16,000 doses for treatment of Black Quarter." Apart from this, the Youth Congress would also lend support in the rehabilitation and reconstruction work of those adversely affected 25 villages which the State Government has decided to adopt.
