After winning the toss, Assam elected to bat first and posted a competitive total of 284 for 7 in their stipulated 50 overs. Sibsankar Roy emerged as the backbone of Assam's innings who scored unbeaten 106 off 94 deliveries. He received useful support from Saurav Mousum Dihingia (61) and skipper S C Ghadigaonkar who contributed 51. For Chandigarh, the bowling unit displayed discipline and control with Nishunk Birla (3/37) who claimed three wickets while Rohit Dhanda chipped in with two crucial wickets.
In reply, Chandigarh's chase was confident as Openers Arjun Azad and skipper Manan Vohra stitched together a 244-run partnership for the first wicket and effectively taking the game away from Assam. Azad scored a magnificent 140 off just 116 balls laced with 18 fours and three sixes and was later judged as Man of the Match.
Captain Manan Vohra complemented Azad perfectly by compiling a composed 102 off 120 deliveries with11 boundaries. After their departures, Shivam Bhambri remained unbeaten on 25 to bring Chandigarh home as the team reached 286 for 3 in 47.2 overs.
