Chandigarh based Fencing Club’s Stars Shine at National Level

Chandigarh, December 15, 2024: --A Chandigarh based fencing training club, Apex Fencing Club, which operates out of the PGI Community Centre in Sector 24, continues to bring laurels to the tricity and the region by demonstrating its prowess in coaching fencing talent in the region.

Under the guidance of its founder and head coach, Mukesh Kumar, the club celebrated remarkable achievements at the recently concluded Junior 32nd National Fencing Championship where Samaira D'Souza and Kaashvi Garg bagged the bronze medal defeating their rivals from Karnataka. The championship was recently held in Patna, Bihar.      

Samaira and Kaashvi's stellar individual performances caught the attention of fencing enthusiasts nationwide. Adding to the club's list of achievements, Kunal Jakhar, representing Haryana, clinched the team gold medal in the epee category, showcasing both skill and determination.

Mukesh Kumar said that the success of Samaira, Kaashvi, and Kunal at the national level is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport.

He added that at Apex Fencing Club, we aim to provide a nurturing environment coupled with rigorous training to help young athletes achieve their full potential. These victories reflect not just individual talent but also the collaborative spirit and discipline that we foster here.

Sharing her thoughts, Samaira D'Souza, fencing medalist and 15-year-old student of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Chandigarh, said that iur coach  aims at the holistic preparation of every player so that he or she gives the best in the competition. This helped me to clinch a bronze medal at the prestigious 32nd Junior National Fencing Championship 2024-25, held in Patna, in a very short span of time.

Kaashvi Garg, an international fencer and Junior Commonwealth medalist, said that our coach inculcates in an aspiring fencer an exceptional sense of discipline and a hunger for success.

It is noteworthy that  Apex Fencing Club has emerged as a beacon of excellence in fencing training, and is attracting budding talents from across the region, and has consistently produced athletes who excel on both national and international stages.
