This year's competition aims to take cycling to every school in India, with plans to establish a national league. Over 175 participants from 16 schools and more than 20 cities, including Bangalore, Pune, and Guwahati, will converge for this exciting race.

Vivek Bhatia (IAS), the Director Youth Services and Sports & Principal Private Secretary-cum-Special Secretary to CM Himachal Pradesh, an enthusiastic and avid cyclist himself will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

The competition featured four categories in an MTB XCO style, with routes ranging from 11 km for those under 14 years to 15 km with a 600-meter elevation gain for the elite category. Riders will navigate a challenging mix of steep ascents, thrilling descents, and sharp turns, testing the skills of the best cyclists.

The Old Sanawarian Society conceived the idea of cycling in Sanawar in 2017 and since then the Tour De Sanawar has rapidly transformed from a recreational event into a highly anticipated competition, reflecting the growing interest in cycling across the nation.

The success of the Tour De Sanawar has been made possible through the visionary support of  Pankaj M Munjal, Chairman of Hero Cycles and an alumnus of The Lawrence School, Sanawar. His commitment to promoting cycling at the grassroots level has inspired countless young athletes. He said that by offering a platform for budding cyclists to test their endurance in a supportive environment, Sanawar is setting a standard for how educational institutions can merge history, education, and sports to foster a lasting sporting culture. We envision a future where cycling is part of daily life for everyone.

Himmat Singh Dhillon, the School Headmaster, said that as Tour De Sanawar continues to grow, the vision is clear to bring schools from every state of India and even overseas into the fold, making the next edition even more inclusive and impactful.
