Government College of Education Shines at Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage (Zone 6) Festival 2024 with 32 Prizes

Chandigarh, Oct.29, 2024:--Government College of Education, Chandigarh emerged triumphant at the Zonal Youth Festival 2024, winning a total of 32 prizes out of 34 competed in various categories. The college showcased its exceptional talent and creative prowess, reaffirming its position as a leading educational institution in the region. A total number of 54 students participated in 34 items under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda, Contingent Incharge Dr. Vandana Aggarwal and Dr. Ravinder Kumar.

The Zonal Youth Festival held at GHG Khalsa College of Education, Gursar Sadhar, Distt., Ludhiana, Punjab from October 25-28, 2024, provided a platform for students from 33 educational colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh to exhibit their skills in various fields such as music, dance, fine art, theatre, heritage items and many more. The festival aimed to promote cultural exchange, foster creativity, and nurture talent among the youth.

The College students represented the institution with great flair and enthusiasm, leaving an indelible mark on the judges and audience alike. The college secured prizes in multiple categories, including

·      14 First Prizes- Group Bhajan, Bhajan (individual), Gazal, Folk Instruments, Group Folk Orchestra, Group Folk Orchestra (Individual), One Act Play, Histrionics, Sammi(Individual), Folk Instruments, Group Folk Orchestra, Group Folk Orchestra (individual), Kavishri (individual), Vaar Singing. 

·        7 Second Prizes- Group Bhajan (Individual), Folk Song, Group Folk Orchestra (Individual), One Act Play (Individual), Hand Writing, Group Folk Orchestra (Individual), Kali Singing.

·        11 Third Prizes- Heritage Quiz, Rassa Vatna, Naala Making, Guddian Patole, Creative Writing (Story), Creative Writing (Poem), Knitting, Folk Dance Sammi, Poem Recitation, Skit, Classical Vocal.

The remarkable achievement at the Zonal Youth Festival highlights the dedication, talent, and hard work of the students, as well as the guidance and support provided by the faculty and Chandigarh administration.
