Chandigarh, Sept.24, 2024:--After having spent years of blood, sweat and tears on just writing 'Jahankilla', seeing it on the big screen is exhilarating, to say the least. The whole process for me was extremely personal and organic, interlaced with many personal anecdotes of civil services aspirants. My vision on paper becoming a tangible reality was a process fraught with challenges and unending twists to the story; often times stranger than the ones I created as a storyteller.
Having written multiple scripts, many of which are slated to go on floor soon, I can say with complete certainty that 'Jahankilla' is going to break all box office records.
There is always a risk when you act in something you write. The actor often taking over the writing. That is one thing I always refrained from. I refused to let the actor in me override the writer.
My vision found the resonating energy from Howzzat Productions. We always were on same page when it came to creating quality content. I always wanted to tell stories of youth and this is a film that champions the power of youth unleashing the hidden potential of contemporary youth in hinterlands of the country. Their ambitions, aspirations for a better life for themselves reflect in this film. National integration emerges as a constant thread throughout the film. The sacrifices and selfless service of police, army, and all first responders mostly go unrecognized. So, in a way, we created our own ode to all these heroes to honor them.
This is exactly why I am positive that 'Jahankilla' will turn out to be a commercial success countrywide.
