Lamrin Tech Skills University Launches Cutting Edge Program in Collaboration with Ansys

Chandigarh, June 30, 2023:-- Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab is first of its kind industry incubated skill university in India incubated by IBM as anchor partner, TATA Technologies & Ansys as industry partners. The University was established by Govt. of Punjab under state act No 22 of 2021 and is recognized by UGC, New Delhi.
Partnering with global Tech giants to structure the curriculum, mentored by leading industry experts, practitioners and academicians, making students industry ready through training in skill based courses, the university aims at making India a leader in the skill based workforce worldwide. To achieve this Objectives Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab has launched cutting edge job oriented skilling Program in B.Tech Mechanical Engineering specialization in Design and Manufacturing in collaboration with Ansys as an Industry Partner. Uniqueness of this 4 year B. Tech course is its program structure (2.5 years+0.5 years+1 year) in which student will be studying core and high end technologies in 2.5 years followed by Live projects from Industry in next semester  and one year on the job deployment in Industry. The eligibility of the program is 12th Non Medical and Students will get admission on basis of percentage which will lead to various track, students with 90% marks may choose R&D and 80% marks students will get admission in Production, 70% marks of students will get in Quality and 60% marks of students will get in sales.

 Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura, Chancellor,  Lamrin Tech Skills University, said that this collaboration will result in  building a learning ecosystem which aligns with PM Modi's vision for industry 4.0, leading India as a skill capital of the World by providing a platform for honing global level skills to youth of India  enabling them to be employable in domestic and overseas market. Dr Kaura further said that the focus is on practical output. Our beginning is with the aim of meeting aspiration of industry and students. LTSU in collaboration with Industry partners IBM, Ansys and Tata technologies shall decide the direction of education for our students, Dr Kaura also highlighted that meritorious students with a minimum 60% will be eligible to join the program and we will make sure that fee does not become the handicap for the meritorious but aspiring students with humble background. We have tied up with NSDC for easy, collateral free financing to meet the requirements of the students. Infrastructure is ready with state of art facilities. He also added that an International center will be established in the University with the help of Govt. of India and University will be providing language training to budding aspirants in the fields such as Nursing, Welding & Other Technical filed, Soft & Future Skills and AI. The students trained in the university will be deployed abroad, or be the entrepreneurs. The entire process will be undertaken to help the youth for not wasting huge resources in the hands of agents. The University is aiming to admit six thousand students this year combining all the courses together.  This will provide a boon to the young students to fulfill their dreams and choice of the course they aspired for bright career. Majority of these programs will be residential for which excellent hostel facilities are being provided in the University campus.

On the eve of the launch of Program  Rafiq Somani Area Vice President India and South Asia Pacific Ansys said that Ansys is happy to join forces with the Lamrin University along with our partner ARK Infosolutions Pvt Ltd for the setting up of the Ansys Centre of Competency Development and CoE in Punjab. This centre will focus on skill development of students of Punjab in the field of aerospace, automotive, electronics and electrical domains and training them on best industry software, in the coming years. Ansys has always been a firm believer that an industry-academia collaboration is a key catalyst for technological innovation and growth. Through this partnership students of Lamrin University will get benefit of working on the latest simulation technologies in the domain of their choice and interest, the industry will get ready and skilled engineers having both software and practical knowledge, in the near future. This is definitely a win-win situation.

Speaking on the occasion Aroop Tyagi  Director Academic Program – India, Ansys added that this collaboration bridges the gap between the Industry and Academia. By choosing this course students will have a good knowledge of Design and Simulation. Aroop said that Ansys is a global leader in engineering simulation software and solutions with a team of more than 5000 professionals including experts M.S. and Ph.D level engineers. Ansys specializes in finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, embedded software, and design optimation.
The University has successfully launched world class IBM backed Computer Science & Engineering with Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, Data Sciences, IoT and Cyber Security in focus (600) seats, Steller School of Real Estate (MBA in Real estate 120seats), HTMi backed Hotel Management (120 seats) and other Engineering and Technology programs. The University in collaboration with Logistics Sector Skill Council will also admit students in BBA (logistic)(60 seats)for the first time in region.Apart from these courses, total of 2000 students will be admitted in the Centre of Excellence (COE). The popular courses like B. Pharma(100seats), BPharma (practice)(40 seats) and M. Pharma (30 seats), Business and Commerce (180 seats), Education(100 seats), Legal studies( 60 seats), are also being offered at graduation Post Graduation and research level are offered.
In collaboration with NSDC National Skill Development Corporation the university has launched under COVT (Centre of Vocational Training) and COST (Centre of Specialized Training) programs such as Learn and Earn Program leading to Diploma level  as per National Skill Qualification Framework. The Learn and Earn Program has already received massive response (700) seats and targeting 1000 seats in the coming session. The skilling education and earning going simultaneously provides an opportunity to those who otherwise cannot afford education.
