PU Invites Applications for B.Ed.at FIve Colleges in Chandigarh

Chandigarh 09^th July:--Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has invited applications for B.Ed. admissions at five colleges affiliated with PU situated in Chandigarh. These colleges in Chandigarh have 570 B.Ed. seats. Admissions to B.Ed. (General), B.Ed. (Yoga) and B.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation) at Brahamrishi Yoga Training College Sector-19-A, Dev Samaj College of Education Sector 36-B, Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health Sector 23, Government College of Education, Sector 20-D and Regional Institute of Mentally Handicapped Sector-31 would be done through centralized counselling. Those who aspire to take admission in these colleges may apply online from July 8 to 16, 2014 at http://bedadmissions.puchd.ac.in. B.Ed. Prospectus has also become available.
Brahamrishi Yoga Training College Sector-19-A has 20 B.Ed. seats, Dev Samaj College of Education Sector 36-B has 200 seats, Government College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23 has 20 seats, Government College of Education, Sector 20-D has 300 seats and Regional Institute of Mentally Handicapped Sector-31 has 30 seats.Candidates with at least 50 % marks either in the Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Master's degree or any other qualification declared equivalent thereto, would be eligible for admission to the programme. There shall be a relaxation of 5 % marks in favour of SC/ST/BC candidates. Candidate with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories shall not be eligible.

Announcing the admission policy in Colleges of Union Territory, Chandigarh, PU Spokesman said that out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 60 percent seats will be filled up from amongst the Chandigarh UT students and 40 percent seats would be for General Pool, which would be filled from amongst the students who pass their qualifying examination from the recognized institutions other than those located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh or otherwise. Last date for submission of information on the website to generate the Bank Challan will be July 16. The students are also to deposit of fee in any branch of State Bank of India using website generated challan, its last date will be 4 PM of July 18. Last date for submission of fee details like Journal No.: Branch Code and Date of Deposit given by Bank and uploading of photograph, signature with rest of the information on the website will be July 19.

Tentative merit list/entries made by the candidates would be displayed on July 21. The students would be given one day to point out any discrepancies in the tentative merit list/entries made by the candidates and its last day would be 4 PM of July 22. Final list would be displayed on July 23. First Counselling (Face to Face) would be conducted from July 30 to August 1.
