Tandon Highlights BJP’s Women Empowerment Initiatives, on Mother's Day

On the occasion of 'Mother's Day,' BJP Chandigarh candidate for Lok Sabaha election Sanjay Tandon shed light on the significant initiatives made by the Modi government for women's empowerment over the last 10 years. Tandon emphasized the government's unwavering dedication to enhancing the status and rights of women nationwide during his addresses at various Jansabhas held in Mauli Jagran and EWS Flats, Maloya, Chandigarh.

Notably, hundreds of people gathered to support Tandon in Mauli Jagran. Subsequently, in a show of strength, Tandon also led a procession on 'Vijay Rath at EWS flats in Maloya.

Acknowledging the pivotal role that women play in society, Tandon said today, as we celebrate Mother's Day, it is imperative to acknowledge the indispensable contributions of women in shaping our communities and nation at large. The Modi government has spearheaded several pioneering initiatives aimed at fostering the empowerment of women from all walks of life.

Tandon elaborated on key government schemes launched by the Modi government such as 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,' Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Maternity Benefit Program, Triple Talaq, and Namo Drone Didi, highlighting their transformative impact on the lives of millions of women and their families. He also highlighted the landmark women's reservation bill 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,' which was passed to reserve 33% seats in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.

Tandon reiterated Modi's unwavering commitment towards women's empowerment and creating a more inclusive and equitable society. Acknowledging the issues of EWS flats, at Dhanas colony, Tandon reaffirmed his dedication to resolving the leasehold to freehold issue. He pledged to provide housing to underprivileged individuals through the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' once elected as an MP.

He also emphasized his efforts to support women in the UT. He elaborated that through his two NGOs, the 'Competent Foundation' and the Balramji Das Tandon Foundation, he provides free rations to 90 needy widowed women every month. Additionally, he organizes a community kitchen - 'Langar,' at PGI, Chandigarh, and conducts blood donation camps.
