Chandigarh, May 10, 2024:-
BJP national president JP Nadda today tore into the INDI alliance saying that half of its senior leaders are in jail, and the other half is on bail.
Addressing a huge public meeting here today in support of the BJP candidate for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha election, Sanjay Tandon, at Sector Sec 27 Ram Leela ground, Nadda made the remarks while referring to the corruption cases involving INDI alliance leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, P Chidambaram, Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia, Satiinder Jain, and others.
In his address, he made a special mention of Arvind Kejriwal, who was granted bail today in the multi-crore liquor scam.
In a scathing indictment of the opposition, Nadda condemned their lack of vision and propensity for corruption, labeling them as the "Ghamandi Alliance."
At the Jansabha, Nadda was welcomed by Jitendra Pal Malhotra, BJP State President, BJP candidate Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh MP Kiron Kher, among others. The public meeting was held at Sec 27 Ram Leela ground after the successful filing of Tandon's nomination papers.
As the weather suddenly turned windy during the public meeting, Nadda emphasized the significance of the gusty winds as a symbol of divine blessings bestowed by the Almighty on the BJP's national election campaign. He commended the remarkable enthusiasm displayed by the assembled crowd and fervently encouraged everyone to exercise their voting rights and rally behind Sanjay Tandon, ensuring a resounding victory for Prime Minister Modi.
While canvassing a campaign for Tandon, Nadda appealed to the public that all that is needed to find a solution to the issues facing the people of Chandigarh is the 'Aashirwaad' of the voters to Sanjay Tandon and their precious vote.
Tandon, in his address, raised issues such as Lal Dora, Property Transfer, Housing Board related problems, and spoke about making Chandigarh an 'aspirational city'. He appealed to the electorate for their support, envisioning that as the Chandigarh MP, he could address all issues through a streamlined one-time-settlement approach.
Nadda mentioned that Congress leaders like Sam Pitroda were making insensitive statements against Indians, thereby spoiling the cultural fabric of the country. "One needs to beware of the Congress mentality," he said. Tandon remarked that Rahul Gandhi wanted to revoke the reservation for Dalits and backward classes as enshrined in the Constitution and give it to Muslims, whereas there is no provision for religion-based reservation in the constitution.
Reflecting on the transformative journey of the nation over the past decade, Nadda highlighted the remarkable strides made under the Modi government's development model. Emphasizing India's rise on the global stage, Nadda lauded Modi's leadership in propelling the economy to the fifth position worldwide.
Nadda also highlighted the women's reservation bill 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' passed to reserve 33% seats in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, which will usher in a new era of women-led development in the country.
Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Nadda lauded India's key role as a provider of vaccines to the world, showcasing the nation's transformation into a global benefactor.
Ravinder Pathania, a senior Chandigarh BJP leader, informed that hundreds of people dressed in traditional attire of Uttarakhand, including men, women, and youth, welcomed the BJP national President. The response was phenomenal as the public meeting venue was choc-a-block.
Prominent BJP leaders present included Satya Pal Jain, Davinder Babla, Hukum Chand, State General Secretary, Ramvir Bhatti, Kiron Kher, Jitendra Pal Malhotra, State President, Shakti Devshali, Amit Jindal, Arun Sood, Ravinder Singh, Sudan Singh National Vice President, and Poonam Sharma.
