Mohanveena & Satvik Veena Jugalbandi Enthrall the City Audience

53rd  edition of the much awaited All India Bhaskar Rao Nritya  and  Sangeet Sammelan witnessed a soulful Dhrupad recital by well known Dhrupad exponent Samit Mallick  and remarkable  Mohan  Veena & Satvik Veena jugalbandi by Padmabhushan Grammy awardee and Mohan Veena  Virtuoso Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt  & his  extremely  talented son & creator of Satvik Veena  Pt. Salil Bhatt at the Tagore Theatre here today. Registrar   Dr. Shobha Koser ,Secretary Sh. Sajal Koser was also present on this occasion. Prof. Dr. Jagbir Singh, State Information commissioner , Haryana  graced the occasion as Guest of  Honor

About the artists

Dr. Samit Kumar Mallick belongs to the illustrious musical family of Darbhanga Gharana / Mallick Gharana and represents the 13th generation of this musical lineage. His training in Dhrupad started at an early age under the guidance of his guru and father Padma Shri Pt. Ram Kumar Mallick, a world renowned Indian Classical Musician. He had the privilege to learn from his Grandfather world renowned Dhrupad Legend Pt. Vidur Mallick. He is a regular broadcaster of All India Radio and Television, and is a well-known 'A' Grade Artist of AIR & TV in Dhrupad and has successfully performed at many prestigious music festivals all over India

Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt  is an exponent of Hindustani music Vishwa Mohan Bhatt is one of the most celebrated shishyas (disciples) of the Sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar. Born in Jaipur in Rajasthan in July 1952, he is the younger brother of Shashi Mohan Bhatt; who was one of the first three students to study with Shankar circa 1949/50, and the father of sitarist Krishna Mohan Bhatt. Much of his formative musical education came from his family. His father Manmohan Bhatt taught and as a boy Vishwa Mohan Bhatt soaked up his father's singing, compositions and ragas. Son of the world-renowned Mohan Veena Maestro, Pandit Salil Bhatt was nurtured from a very tender age to be an artist of repute.
