Chandigarh, Oct.31, 2023:- A well-in-time splendid half century knock from Yamuna Singh (88) helped Punjab to bring out of the trouble to put a respectable 256 score against J&K at the finals of the third edition of Balramji Tandon Under-16 Boys Multi-Day Cricket Tournament being played at DAV College, Sector 10 on Tuesday. After winning the toss, J&K decided to field first and Punjab made a steady start with 74/1 on the board. Later, the team fumble against the disciplined bowling attack to reduce the half side at mere 116. Yamuna Singh continued to hold the fort and steered his team to beyond 250 mark. His patient inning of 88 runs off 128 balls was studded with 17 shots towards the fence as the team was bundled out for 256 in 84th over. Ravtej Singh added 47 runs. For J&K, Manitvya Sharma, Arun Kumar and Shifan took two wickets each.
In reply, J&K scored ten runs without losing any wicket with unbeaten openers - Arjun Sharma (4) and Rahil (6) before the stumps were drawn.
On the last day of the match on Wednesday, Haryana's Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta will honor the winning and runner-up teams.
