International Womens Day: Dr. Navpreet Kaur Honoured by Indian National Bar Association

Chandigarh, Mar.12, 2023:-Dr Navpreet Kaur has been chosen as one among "The Phenomenal She" by the Indian National Bar Association (INBA) in the fifth edition of their publication.The event was organised at Constitutional Club of India where 100 women from India were awarded today . A coffee table book of 100 Indian women which includes the name of " Dr. Navpreet Kaur " was also launched on 11th March . She was honoured by INBA as a Phenomenal She for her extraordinary endeavours. 

Dr. Navpreet Kaur is alumna of Panjab University. She is a Social Activist and Co- founder of The Laxmi Foundation, who has considerable experience of working with various legal institutions. She began her career as an advocate in the District Courts; Chandigarh and later in 2013, commenced teaching as an Assistant Professor in law. In 2019, she commenced working with the State Legal Services

Authority.

Dr Navpreet Kaur is an accomplished researcher. In fact it was her zest and zeal to pursue quality research in a very complicated and tough social issue of "Vitriolage (Acid Attack)". While pursuing her PhD, she met many acid attack victims and realized the significant psychological, social, medical and legal issues faced by these women and the often inadequate help that they were receiving from Government and other agencies. To address these deficiencies she began the campaign called "Stop Sale Acid" against the unrestricted sale of acid and also to help acid attack survivors in their rehabilitation. The campaign has global support. 

The Laxmi Foundation, an NGO  run by her is dedicated to the support of acid attack survivors. Dr.Kaur works closely with acid attack survivors, underprivileged women and children, and various other vulnerable sections of society. As well she teaches poor and marginalized children in slum areas and creating awareness regarding Sanitation, Health and Hygiene.

Dr. Kaur is a humanitarian author. Dr. Navpreet Kaur who has published her book on acid attacks.Research papers written by Dr. Kaur have been published in various national and international journals and texts. She has worked on national and international research projects and is a member of numerous medico- legal committees. She is a motivational speaker: she inspires and enlightens  her audiences.
