Chandigarh,May 09,2022:-Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organized a special event to celebrate Mother's Day & Awarding ceremony of 'Haste Angan' to acknowledge the importance of motherhood and to recognize the sincere efforts of Anganwadi centers of Chandigarh on 09.05.22 at Multi-Purpose Hall, Snehalaya.
While speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR highlighted that the idea behind starting of 'Haste Angan' project was to ensure the grass-root level health & hygiene awareness and protection of children by strengthening the Anganwadi Centers of Chandigarh-The City Beautiful. The focus of this initiative is to provide a positive and hygienic environment to the children and young mothers. A mother plays a significant role in a child's life so it becomes important that she should be herself physically as well as mentally strong so that it becomes easy for her to make the homes happy homes for the budding children.
Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh graced the event as Chief Guest. She appreciated the endeavors of CCPCR towards providing a holistic environment to children through this project. She congratulated the Nodal officers of 'Haste Angan' and their team for rendering necessary welfare and protection services to children at the grassroots level. She further motivated the Anganwadi workers to do their duty with a spirit of dedication and passion.
During Award Ceremony, Best Children 18 each from (0-3 & 3-6 Age group),18 Best Mothers, and 18 Best Anganwadi Centers were facilitated from all over Chandigarh. Also, spectacular cultural performances were presented by the Anganwadi Workers and children.
Mrs. Shalini Chetal, HCS, Director Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration, Dr. Monica M. Singh, Member, CCPCR, Mrs. Pooja Punchhi, Member, CCPCR, Sh. Sanjay Sharma, Member, CCPCR,Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, CCPCR, Mrs.Ankita, POCSO Consultant, and Arvind K. Dhawan, Sr. Assistant, CCPCR were also present during this program.
