By 121 News

Chandigarh Nov.06, 2021:- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leader and Leader of Opposition, Harpal Singh Cheema met the protesting 646 PTI teachers at Sohana (Mohali) on Diwali, who have been fighting for their demands for a long time; sitting on a water tank. He was accompanied by party spokesperson and Vyapar Mandal state president Vineet Verma.

On this occasion, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Congress which came to power by promising to provide Ghar-Ghar Rozgar, has forced the educated youth of Punjab to stage protests in various places. This government is not fulfilling any of its promises, as the Congress has always used the youth as a vote bank.

Cheema said that the Punjab government was not paying any heed to these protesting teachers; as a result, these teachers are forced to struggle by protesting on the water tank, even on festival days. Meanwhile, Harpal Singh Cheema has written a letter to the education department demanding that as per the demands of the protesters, the recruitment of unemployed PTI teachers should be done on the basis of merit, without test and on the basis of marks obtained in Class XII and CPED.

He clarified that while there was no controversy over the recruitment of these posts and no stay has been imposed by the Honorable High Court; therefore the Education Department should immediately conduct recruitment for the PTI posts as there is a huge shortage of PTI teachers in the schools of Punjab.
