Chandigarh Oct. 28, 2021:- To meet the shortage of platelets and blood in Tricity hospitals due to dengue outbreak, VishVas Foundation organized a blood donation camp in front of Jagdamba Medicos Market Sector 15D Chandigarh today. This camp was organized in collaboration with Market Association Sector 15D and Indian Red Cross Society Punjab State Branch Chandigarh. Special care was taken for social distance, masks and sanitization in the camp. 40 blood donors donated blood with their volition and enthusiasm to help dengue patients.

Vishvas Foundation General Secretary Sadhvi Neelima Vishvas said that the team of Blood Bank PGI Chandigarh collected blood under the supervision of Dr Deepika. The camp was inaugurated by Nand Kishore Munjal and Janak Munjal. Nowadays there is a lot of shortage of blood and blood components in all the hospitals due to dengue. There is a misconception among people that donating blood causes weakness in the body. There is no weakness due to blood donation, rather everyone must donate blood once in 90 days. It helps the needy as well as keeps the body healthy. Blood donation is great donation and there is no substitute for blood nor can it be made artificially. A virtuous act like donating blood comes in the greatest service.

All the blood donors who came to this blood donation camp were encouraged by giving appreciation letters, masks, soaps and gifts. On this occasion, Girish Lalit, Varinder Gandhi, Vikas Kalia, Rakesh Kumari, Neeraj Yadav doctors of Blood Bank and other dignitaries were also present.
