Chandigarh May 08, 2021:-The Department of Languages, Desh Bhagat University organized an online Expert Lecture on Guru Ravidas Bani Sarokar. About 56 students listened to the eminent speaker Dr. Lucky Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Punjabi, R. R. Bawa DAV College for Girls, Batala. Chancellor of the university Dr. Zora Singh congratulated the faculty of Education for organizing such an important and informative session.
Giving Details of Online session, spokesperson of the university said that, Dr. Devinder Kumar introduced the expert speaker to the audience by highlighting her educational qualifications, job experiences, and career achievements.
During this session, Dr. Lucky Sharma mentioned in detail the biography of Guru Ravidas and illuminated the audience about the predominant philosophies of this great saint of India. She made detailed discussions about worship, devotion, spirituality, reverence, and omnipotence of God as propounded by Guru Ravidas Ji. She mentioned Begumpura: a term coined by Guru Ji in a poem, which means a city where there was no suffering, fear, or discrimination but equality and love for all. She elaborated that Guruji taught humanity about the value of work without which life is idle and useless. She explained beautifully the relationship between form and content in religious terms. He mentioned how this lecture will prove beneficial for the students in enlightening their brains about the teachings and philosophies of Bhagat Ravidas towards the common man and life.
Dr. Surjeet Patheja, Director of Education thanked the expert speaker Dr. Lucky Sharma, Prof Emeritus Dr. Satish Kumar Verma, Head of the Languages Department Dr. Devinder Kumar, and Head of the Social Sciences Department Dr. Dharminder Singh, all faculty members, and students. She blessed everyone on the occasion and congratulated the Department for taking the initiative to arrange this expert lecture.
Dr. Dharminder Singh, Head of the Department of Social Sciences praised the speaker and thanked her for presenting such valuable thoughts about the life and philosophy of Guru Ravidas Ji. He summed up beautifully the lecture of the speaker and appreciated her efficiency.
