Employees organizations of UT & MC Holds Rally

Chandigarh Feb. 10, 2021:- On the Call given by the Federation of UT Employees & workers Chandigarh. The employees of 11/2 Departments i.e. Electricity, Water Supply, Horticulture, Road, ICCW & other Departments of UT & MC held Rally today before the MC office, Sector 17, Chandigarh in support of the demands of Door to Door Garbage Collectors, who are sitting in Hunger Strike for last 43 days demanding – To continue. The door to door garbage collectors to work as earlier practice, they are ready to collect wet and dry garbage separately but let them free to sale of waste material, to start Housing Scheme begins in 2008 and allotted to the poor garbage collectors, offer of appointment to all the garbage collectors on regular basis and grant all the benefits as admissible to regular employees etc.

The Rally was Addressed by Gopal Datt Joshi, General Secretary, Raghbir Chand, President, Dhian Singh & Amrik Singh (Electy), Rajinder Katoch, Harpal Singh, (Water Supply), Harkesh Chand M Subramnyam (Horticulture), Rajinder, Prem Pal, Bish Ram (UT & MC Road), Rakha Sharma, Behari Lal (ICCW), Kuldip Singh (CITU), Om Parkash (Pb Board Corp), Shamsher Lotiya, Dilbhag Tauk and All India Majoor Sangathan Beside others.

All the leaders while addressing the Rally and demonstration strongly criticize and Condemned the anti workers decision of Chandigarh Administration and Municipal Corporation for their adamant attitude towards the demands of door to door garbage collectors and demeaned to resolve the demands through proper negotiations with the agitating employees, failing which the Federation will intensify its struggle.

The Rally through a resolution demanded to regularize the services of the all the daily wages and outsourced employees and pending regularization to take them on Department Role through another resolution demanded the Chandigarh Administration to revise the DC Rate applicable w.e.f April 2021. The protestors anonymously passed a resolution demanding the Chandigarh Administration to withdraw the decision to privatize the well running and profit earning UT Electricity Department Chandigarh.
