Chandigarh Jan. 13, 2021:- Lohri was celebrated at Desh Bhagat Global School, Mandi Gobindgarh with a lot of exuberance and fanfare. The occasion was broadcasted online for the students .The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri.
The tiny tots presented poems and dances while other students presented Punjabi 'Boliyaan', Punjabi folk songs, Lohri songs and poems. The students and teachers sang songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab.
Dr.Zora Singh, Chairman and Dr. Tejinder Kaur , Chairperson DBGS said ,"Lohri is the harvest festival of Punjab, famously known as the bread-basket state of India. Thus, people residing in Punjab attach a great significance to Lohri, the festival of feasts and foods. This harvest festival is celebrated to mark both celebration and sharing.
Mrs. Neha Dhall, Principal DBGS encouraged students to value our cultural heritage.
