Chandigarh October 01, 2020:- Desh Bhagat University, School of Hotel Management & Tourism (USOHM&T) organized a webinar on significance of tourism.
The students and teachers represented various Indian states' tourism slogans with video clips and posters. The event was concluded by a virtual address by Dr. Palwinder Kumar, Director School of Hotel Management & Tourism. Dr. Kumar underlined the significance of tourism in economic growth and said that we can increase the income of rural inhabitants by promoting rural tourism. Government should include rural tourism in their plans of doubling farmers' income.
Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, DBU appreciated the efforts of School of Hotel Management, Airlines & Tourism in promoting the spirit for sustainable tourism and said that the students should become the ambassadors of rural tourism and look for the entrepreneurial opportunities in it.
Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, emphasized on the significance of travel in making one educated and a global citizen. She wished as the economies are reopening, we soon welcome tourists from all around the globe.
