Chandigarh Sept.28, 2020:- Bijwara Showrooms Market Association, Sector 22D has raised strong objection to the parking being run illegally in the past two months in its market. Taking a dig at the matter, the association has lodged the protest in MC Commissioner, SSP, Chandigarh Police and local SHO at Sector 17 to take up the matter seriously.
Addressing the press conference on Monday, Vikas Bansal, president of the association, made serious allegations against the parking contractor Paschatya Entertainment, stating that this process of paid parking had been going on for the last two months. The contractor managed the affairs with the parking slips of Sector 22C and deliberately used the Sector 22D parking. Recently, when the members of the market association took seriously the noises between their customers and the parking contractor, it was found that this parking was being run without any agreement with the MC. The said contractor was unable to show his agreement with the MC. The market association gave sufficient time to the contractor to show his agreement but he could not show the official proof of his contract as the parking contract is pending for approval.
The association's general secretary Vijay Garg said that when the matter was put under the scanner of the police, the police post located in Sector 22 showed its soft corner towards the contractor.
The association's chairman, DP Garg, said that the contractor has not only cheated people and local shopkeepers by issuing slips and passes but has also damaged the government revenue. The association has demanded that the administration should take strict action against the contractor and expose the concerned MC officers and policemen involved in the case.
