Punjab Youth Congress Workers Will Install Statue of Indira Gandhi to Mark Her Death Anniversary

Chandigarh 27th October:- To mark the 'Balidaan Diwas'- 33rd death anniversary of India's first woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who is remembered for giving strong leadership to the country, the members of Punjab Youth Congress will take out a rally in Ludhiana on October 30.  As many as 1500 member will take part in the rally which will take off from Dresi Ground which movie through clock tower and will culminate at the Congress Bhawan.     

While addressing the media persons here today, Secretary of PYC, Vijay Agnihotri said that the whole nation remembers Indira Gandhi as an Iron lady. She has worked immensely for the poor, farmers, downtrodden and the marginalized. There are various reasons that she continues to live in the memories of millions even 33 years after her demise. He said further that we will install a statue of Indira Gandhi at Congress Bhawan in Ludhiana to pay our tributes. We have invited Rajya Sabha member, Anand Sharma, Rahul Gandhi's close associate Kishori Lal Sharma, Senior Congress leader and former, General Secretary AICC, Oscar Fernandes, Ludhiana's MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee's President Sunil Jakhar.   

Apart from this, the members will also share the unsaid story of those Hindu families who suffered in 1984 riots who have not got justice till date.

Hitting out at the Prime Minister's Narendra Modi led BJP government at the centre, Agnihotri said that BJP government who calls itself the savior of Hindus failed to heal the wounds of  hindu families who suffered in 1984 riots. There are 35,000 Hindu families in Punjab whose voice, has not been heard and they have not got any compensation till date. We will highlight their plight through our rally so that they get their due respect.

The prominent members who were present on the occasion included Ajay Pal Deshawar, Prshant Moong Kali,Arjun Bhumbak, Deepak Kangra.
