Chandigarh Traders Association Holds Meeting: To Discuss Issue of Law & Order Situation

Chandigarh 01st August:- A meeting of Chandigarh Traders Association Sector 17 was held under the Presidentship of Kamaljit Singh Panchhi to discuss the issue of law & order situation and safety of women in the city. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi said that it is a must to emphasize on the safety of women and girl child these days.

The Members request to Government of India to make strict laws for immediate punishment and action against culprits. Members also request parents to take care of their children and don't trust even their close relatives.

Kamaljit Singh Panchhi said that the members also stressed along with safety and also discussed and started the campaign RESPECT WOMEN & PROTECT WOMEN. Not only they should be safe, but more than anything they ought to be respected too.

During the meeting, the traders decided to take a pledge as under:

"WE THE TRADERS OF CHANDIGARH HEREBY PLEDGE TO FIGHT AGAINST ANY ATROCITY, MISBEHAVIOR OR UNBECOMING TREATMENT OF GIRLS/WOMEN, WHICH WE MAY COME ACROSS, TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY. ELSE, WE SHALL REPORT THE MATTER TO THE POLICE, WOMEN HELPLINE OR THE NEAREST FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRE."

"WE SHALL DO EVERYTHING WITHIN OUR POWER TO CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE TO RESPECT WOMEN & PROTECT WOMEN, IN THE SOCIETY."

A Deputation of the Association will meet the DGP Chandigarh on the above issue very soon.

The meeting was attended by L.C. Arora, Mandeep Singh, P.K. Grover, P.N. Uppal, Gurmit Singh, Jodh Singh, R.K Sharma,Naresh Bansal, Deepak Kumar, Arvind Pandey, Narinder Jain, Ashok Kumar & others.
