Chandigarh 08th April:- The Golden Jubilee meet of the PGIMER Medical Technology Alumni Association along with 9th Convention & was inaugurated today ie 8th APRIL 2017 by Prof K. K. Talwar former Director PGI and an eminent cardiologist of the country. Prof Jagat Ram DPGI was the Guest of Honour during this occasion. This meet was attended by more than 300 alumni from India as well as abroad. The theme of this CME was "EXCELLENCE IN MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY".
Dr K K Talwar in his speech spoke about the indispensable contribution of the Medical Technologists in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They are the backbone of any health care team worldwide. He emphasized the role of Technocrats in modern health care. Dr Jagat Ram DPGI appreciated the activities of PGI Medical Technology Alumni Association in organizing this CME & 9th Convention which provided excellent opportunity for the oldest and the newest Alumni of the Association who had gathered in large numbers to celebrate the Golden Jubilee meet of BSc Medical Technology Course at PGI Chandigarh.
Dr S.C.Bansal Organizing Chairperson, during his talk apprised about the history of Bsc Medical Technology which was started in the year 1967 in PGI first in the entire Asia. Similarly MSc Medical Technology too was started in the year 1970 that too first in Asia. Till date 1204 candidates in Lab and 427 in Radiology have graduated and 130 have passed MSc Medical Technology where as 30 have been awarded doctorate in Medical Technology. Organzing Secretary BMDhawan in his address proposed vote of thanks.
