Chandigarh 07th March:- Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Sector 42 D organized a Blood Donation Camp on March 7, 2017 in alliance with Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) and was sponsored by State Bank of India, Sector 37, Chandigarh.
The Institute organizes Blood Donation Camp on annually basis, in which students and the staff members enthusiastically participate for the virtuous cause. Most of the students appeared to be eager on donating blood, a component that has no substitute.
Anil Sarwal, Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Sector 37 was invited as a Chief Guest. He acknowledged the efforts of the Institute for the noble cause. Doctors from PGI appreciated the endeavor of the institute for taking such an initiative and extending indispensable service towards the humanity and said that requirements of safe blood are growing and constant voluntary blood donations are vital for blood transfusion services.
Bharti Tyagi, Principal of the Institute said that a life may depend on a gesture from you, a bottle of Blood. It will cost us nothing but it will save a life. She appreciated the students and staff members who donated blood.
The donors went through a round of medical check-up before donating blood and were given memento, refreshment and a certificate of recognition for their humane service towards the society. A confidential blood test report and a Donor's Card shall be issued to the donors by PGI, Chandigarh. The event was a massive success with 192 units of Blood collected for the noble cause.
